Nowadays, people are starting to think about their health and try to look for more nutritious meals. If you truly want to take this seriously, the next step that you can take is to go vegan. It’s a very good option if you are passionate about good food, animal welfare and the environment as well.
We at Herbivorous identify as vegans and are passionate about our lifestyle, so we decided to open our shop here in South Africa and promote veganism.
After a while, we were able to work with other people to grow our store. From raw ingredients to ready-made meals, it became our chance to truly show our love for veganism and share it with other people. It wasn’t long after that before we were able to work on our website and launch it over a year after our store opened.
The website became our avenue to reach out to more people in the country and other parts of the world. Even though they were not located near our store, this gave us a chance to send packages through them online and have them delivered straight to their homes!
At the end of the day, all we care about here at Herbivorous is the health and happiness of our customers. It’s our wish to expand our shop, improve our website and hopefully cater to more people around the world.

How to figure out if being vegan is for you
With everything that you have learned about us here at Herbivorous, we would like to think that you already have an idea of what it’s like to be a vegan. Now, if you are a non-vegan but you’re considering becoming vegan, you will have to think hard about whether or not the decision is for you.
One of the things that you can do to figure out if being vegan is for you is to learn about the ingredients that come with it. Instead of the typical meats or dairy products, you will have to go with vegan ingredients such as legumes, mushrooms, nuts, tofu and many more.
Try to familiarize yourself with these ingredients and see if you like the idea of having them in your daily meals. Don’t be afraid to do a bit of experimenting and see if you like the combination of the flavours. The more you experiment, the faster you’ll figure out if it is a good fit for you!
Another way for you to figure out if being a vegan is for you is if you see yourself following the recipes and enjoying the process. There is truly no use in being a vegan if you will be miserable the whole time. At the end of the day, your happiness and health should always be the top priority.
